About Me
My Background |
I grew up on the South Side of Chicago (Homewood-Flossmoor) and received my nursing education at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago (diploma graduate) in 1974. My family moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 1977 and I met my husband through my mother-in-law who was my nursing supervisor (a successful blind date story!). My husband and I were on the Newlywed Game in 1980 (our claim to fame!). After completing my BSN and MSN we packed up our two sons and moved to Tucson where I completed my doctorate at the University of Arizona. While working on my dissertation, we again packed up our family and moved to Orono, Maine and I taught at the University of Maine. After three years, we returned to California and over the past several years I taught for a number of Universities both in traditional as well as online modalities. I have also served as the Director of a multihospital education department. My most recent position was as Dean and Professor for an online University in which I developed and successfully received accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission for a graduate nursing program. |
